(Updated November 18th 2006)
I was born in Helsinki, Finland in the late 60's as the third child of a very ordinary Finnish family. My family wasn't any more religious than any other family, but I think that despite that God has spoken to me ever since I was a kid. Some time after I had given my life to Jesus my sister was watching a picture of me. In the picture I was a baby, sitting with my hands crossed. My sister said very bluntly: "Yes, eija was always like that."
So, I'm very Finnish, and my English skills come from school and television only. So please forgive me, if my text isn't perfect in that sense. I try to do my best anyway.
Over the decades life has both kicked and pampered me, but through it all God has taken care of me. During these last few years He seems to have prepared me in a new way: Showing me His love and mercy in a totally new way and also teaching me to trust in Him so that I can be more courageous to do what He wants me to do.
Nowadays I live in a small town at the south coast of Finland. I have two daughters and a very Finnish husband, who gave me a very Swedish name when we got married. Our last old golden retriever and the little rascal Pepe - a Petit Brabancon - make sure that we don't have a single day without some kind of action or a lot of dirt in the house.
I belong to the Evangelical Free Church of Finland. My local church is only a small bunch of God's people, so everyone does pretty much everything. My main tasks at the moment are the church websites and playing my flute in the services.
You can read my thoughts and findings along the journey in the blog the invisible. How did I start journalling? Find out in here.
A few months later I also started publishing a photo blog, Scenes from God's World. It consists of my own photos, those about the things that somehow speak to me about God. Photographing isn't actually even my hobby, it's something that has just happened - gradually. And since it ministers me, maybe there could be a blessing for someone else, too.
In June 2006 I put the Scenes to rest. That rest became permanent, because I took a fresh start over at the Cornerstone in July. This photo blog seems to be a gift that God has given me to share - so I'm trying to do my best in that field, too.
Welcome to read my blogs!
